Jill Newby is a NHMRCEmerging Leader and Clinical Psychologist at the Black DogInstitute and UNSW Sydney in Australia. She is also the co-director of theNHMRC Centreof Research Excellence in Depression Treatment Precision, which aimsto bring together an interdisciplinary team of experts across artificialintelligence (AI), computer science, lived experience, psychology, psychiatry,digital health and health economics to understand how we can ethically use AIto personalize treatment of depression. Jill’s research aims to improve thelives of people living with depression and anxiety and those at risk, throughdeveloping new and improved treatments, and improving access to affordable,effective treatment using technology. Her current research explores the use oftransdiagnostic digital and blended models of care, lifestyle interventions,and how artificial intelligence can be used to improve treatment precision andpersonalization.
