Postdoctoral Position Overview
A joint NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Shah (www.connectiontofunction.org) and Hallem (www.hallemlab.com) labs at the University of California, Los Angeles to study the evolution of neural development in free-living and parasitic nematodes. The project will employ lineage tracing tools developed in the Shah Lab to understand the diversification of neurodevelopmental programs across distantly related nematodes including C. elegans, the human parasite Strongyloides stercoralis, the rodent parasite Strongyloides ratti and, in collaboration with Ray Hong’s lab at California State University Northridge, the insect-associated nematode Pristionchus pacificus. Candidates with an interest in embryonic development, neurodevelopment, cell fate regulation, and evolution are encouraged to apply to join our dynamic, inclusive team. The position is available starting immediately.
