The overall mission of the lab it to understand the neural pathways underlying corneal mechanical and light sensitivity using multidisciplinary experimental approaches including behavior, in vivo and ex vivo imaging, molecular biology, transgenic mice, and neuro-anatomical analyses  in mouse models of clinically relevant disease and injury.

A successful candidate(s) will have the following qualifications:

  • PhD, MD or MD/PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Vision Research or a related field
  • Track record of productivity
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, highly motivated and independent
  • Experience in at least one of these areas: animal behavior, ocular research, neuroscience, imaging, molecular biology and transgenic mice, but consideration will be given to motivated individuals with a record of productivity.

Please send a Curriculum Vitae with complete bibliography and names of three professional references to Principal Investigator, Anna Matynia at matynia@jsei.ucla.edu.
