The broad objective of the lab is to expose the psychological processes and neural mechanisms that underlie reward-related learning, motivation and decision making. Projects in the lab incorporate multi-discliplinary approaches including in vivo electrochemistry, recordings, pharmacology, molecular biology, optogenetic and chemogenetic interference, and behavior.

A successful candidate(s) will have the following qualifications:

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related field
  • Track record of productivity
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Desire to conduct cutting-edge research
  • Experience in associative learning behavioral paradigms, optogenetics, chemogenetics, electrophyioslogy, electrochemistry, computational modeling, computer programming, molecular biology or imaging is desirable, but not required.

To apply please send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information of two potential recommenders to Kate Wassum (kwassum@ucla.edu). Informal inquiries are encouraged.
